Happy Birthday to Me

This July—on the 19th to be exact—Razzel did the most wonderful job celebrating… me! That Sunday morning, she lovingly told me that it would be a normal day, serving on the People Team for all three services. She sweetly told me that my gift was her. I said, “Sounds great! I love my gift!” I had no idea what was in store, though…

First up, she had a cake with candles presented at our leaders meeting that afternoon. I was so touched to be celebrated by our church.

Next, she asked me to get ice cream with her, where three close friends were secretly waiting to join us. Not only was the company and gelato wonderful, they all three had deeply encouraging words to share.

Finally—the biggest surprise—we skipped our evening service to have dinner at an Michelin-rated Italian restaurant in downtown. It was a complete surprise, and the food was some of the best I’ve had to date. I was touched by Razzel’s love and care, all day long, beyond words.

I have to say, my wife shows me how much she loves me, everyday. There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t experience and feel her humble support, abounding care, and genuine love. Thank you, darling ko!
