People Team: Greeters & Ushers
One of The Church’s Most Meaningful Teams
My whole ministry revolves around all-natural, organic relationships. I lead people by caring for them, one-on-one. I train other leaders by modeling for them how to welcome others into their daily life and sphere of influence.
As the director for our church’s people team—greeters and ushers—it’s so rewarding to welcome guests and members into our meetings and spaces. The most immediate effect is obvious and incredibly important: we provide our guests with a warm, heartfelt “you’re seen and valuable to us.” These interactions also provide the perfect opportunity to welcome people into their next steps. As I meet people on Sundays and listen to their stories, I purposely, prayerfully consider how to encourage them in their relationship with the Lord and the church.
